RCMP – EMS - Firefighters Periodic Health Examination

All RCMP members, EMS and firefighters are required to undergo periodic health examinations to ensure they meet the physical and medical standards necessary for duty.

These examinations are mandated to assess overall health, fitness, and ability to perform essential policing duties.

Dr. Wolf is authorized to conduct Periodic Health Examinations for members requiring medical clearance.

The examination evaluates key health factors, including cardiovascular fitness, vision, hearing, and general wellness, to ensure officers remain fit for service.

Successful candidates will receive a medical assessment report, confirming their continued eligibility for active duty.

Dr. Wolf will assess your overall health, identifying any pre-existing medical conditions and establishing a medical baseline for continuous monitoring.

The evaluation process typically lasts about an hour and encompasses:

  • Completion of a personal medical questionnaire
  • Thorough examination of family history and risk factors
  • Physical examination including assessment of heart and lung function, blood pressure, heart rate, reflexes, etc.

Please note: Applicants’ medical histories are kept confidential and not disclosed to employers. Any discussions or sharing of medical information occur solely between medical professionals for the purpose of providing care, adhering to confidentiality obligations.
